Interesting...

  • if the ligaments are overstretched, they won't "shrink" back - especially the SI (sacroiliac) joint (we are not chewing gum or rubber)

  • your breathing is about the connection of the diaphragm and the muscles of the groins and hips {illiacus and psoas}, that means if those muscles are shortened - due to the improper function of the diaphragm, the intra-abdominal pressure needed to massage the internal organs (excretory function) does not occur...

  • only 4% of back pain comes from damage to the intervertebral discs, 96% are for other reasons

  • your fascia needs to stay hydrated to be able to glide-you can prevent joint problems

  • if your pinky toe can't separate from other toes-you have fascia issue

Fasccinating Fascia

Did you know your fascia is packed with specialized sensory receptors that help you navigate the world? This connective tissue, once thought of as just structural support, plays a key role in proprioception—the body’s ability to sense its position in space.Fascial tissues contain mechanoreceptors like Ruffini endings, Pacinian corpuscles, and Golgi organs, which are critical for detecting pressure, vibration, and stretch. These signals are sent to your brain to create a 3D map of your body’s movements and postures.

Without this system, balance, coordination, and agility would be exceedingly difficult to coordinate and control. This is why movement practices like yoga, dynamic stretching, myofascial release, or even resistance training through large ranges of motion, can improve not only mobility but also body awareness. Here’s the rub, while fascia is important, there isn’t anything special you have to do to train it. Just moving your body everyday is enough to stimulate and get your fascial system moving.

So any direct treatment aimed at fascia is a bit of a marketing ploy…it doesn’t need to be broken down, released or renewed… it’s about optimizing your neural feedback systems for better performance, injury prevention, and pain management. The next time you stretch or roll out a tight spot, remember: you’re not just working on mobility—you’re rewiring your brain-body connection.
